Chris Yong (杨永光): Senior Consultant
Mr. Chris Yong (杨永光) currently works as an independent consultant. With over 30 years extensive experience as chairman and managing director of multinational electronic companies in Asia, he started his consulting firm to focus on these areas where he has great expertise and passion, such as manufacturing operations from start-up, factory consolidation, rationalization of operations, manufacturing process management and quality system development. Chris is also very enthusiastic to offer consulting on global business development particular in Japan and Asia region based on his experience.
Chris has previously worked for Volex Asia as Chairman and managing Director. Volex is a world leading power cord and cable assembly manufacturer for consumer and industrial equipment. He consolidated operations and then expanded Volex factories and sales offices throughout Asia, in China, India, Vietnam and other regions of South East Asia. , Chris established the operations to meet "target-to-zero "defect quality requirement for his customers, Chris served in this post for 8 plus years.
Prior to joining Volex, Chris was the Managing Director of Wearnes Technology for 10 years, he led in electronics components, flexible printed circuit board assembly & testing in China and SE Asia. He was involved closely in US and European investment strategy of low cost manufacture in Asia and global expansion of market.
Chris also served for 10 years in Molex Singapore as Managing Director in the manufacture of connectors to serve the regional market. Chris led the manufacturing and sales team from start-up stage to make it a leading connector company in the region.
In the decade of 1970’s,Chris joined and contributed in various IC, LED, optical devices assembly and testing manufacturing facilities start-up in Asia, Inc.luding National Semiconductor for over 5 years, HP Singapore for over 2 years as senior process engineering manager.
Chris’s consultancy service will focus on:
- Holistic training and development of management staff in small and medium companies to be regional / global players.
- Manufacturing process management and quality system, particular in high volume and high precision process.
- Sales development and product innovation.
- Company start-up in Asia region.
- Business expansion into Japan and Japanese companies.
